Baklava
Ingredients:
- Syrup:
- 500g sugar
- 500ml water
- tbsp. lemon juice
- tpsp. rosewater
Baklava: - 400g ground walnuts
- 150g melted butter
- 15 sheets of puff pastry
- Prepare the syrup. Boil sugar and water for
about 20 minutes. When the texture becomes like a syrup add rosewater
and lemon juice and let it boil for a few minutes. Then let it cool. - Seperate the puff pastry sheets.
- Grease your baking dish and place five pastry sheets in it but brush each sheet with melted butter.
- Sprinkle half amount of the nuts over your buttered pastry.
- Again five sheets of buttered puff pastry and on top of them the rest of the nuts.
- and finally the last five sheets, each brushed with butter.
- Cut baklava into diamonds or squares and sprinkle the left butter over it.
- Bake at 180°Celsius for about 30minutes.
- Finally, pour the syrup over it.
