Baklava


Ingredients:

  • Syrup:
  • 500g sugar
  • 500ml water
  • tbsp. lemon juice
  • tpsp. rosewater

    Baklava:
  • 400g ground walnuts
  • 150g melted butter
  • 15 sheets of puff pastry

  1. Prepare the syrup. Boil sugar and water for
    about 20 minutes. When the texture becomes like a syrup add rosewater
    and lemon juice and let it boil for a few minutes. Then let it cool.

  2. Seperate the puff pastry sheets.

  3. Grease your baking dish and place five pastry sheets in it but brush each sheet with melted butter.

  4. Sprinkle half amount of the nuts over your buttered pastry.

  5. Again five sheets of buttered puff pastry and on top of them the rest of the nuts.
  6. and finally the last five sheets, each brushed with butter.

  7. Cut baklava into diamonds or squares and sprinkle the left butter over it.

  8. Bake at 180°Celsius for about 30minutes.
  9. Finally, pour the syrup over it.
