The month of Ramadhan has arrived once again.
Last year, time flew by and by the time we were at our last fast, many of us had regrets for what we had done in the past month. Now is the time to do what we couldn’t do last year.
Many of us youngsters have ample time to do what our mummies and daddies can’t do with all the work they have. Our mornings and afternoons are busy with school/homework/rest but then we have our hands and minds free, getting bored to death. Here’s a few things you can do to take up that time, with countless rewards as an extra.
DAWAH: If you’re living amongst non-Muslims then Dawah is one important thing never to forget. It is our duty to preach, to teach those who are misinformed and on the wrong path. The call to Islam can be done anywhere: on a bus going home; in a free period; at the lunch table. There are no limits.
FEEDING SOMEONE: To feed someone is a great deed, to provide food for opening someone’s fast is better—so much that you earn the reward of that persons fast too!
TALEEM/QURAN: Selecting a time in the day for Taleem will ensure you actually sit down and do some ibadah. Ibadah includes listening to a lecture, reading the Quran (which is sunnah) and to finish it in the month, learning surahs/hadiths; you name it. Whatever it is, rewards are definite if the intentions are clean.
At the end, just before Iftaar is the best time to ask Duaa and forgiveness from Allah. After that’s done to, maybe you can give your mum a little help so she can pray too
